Highlights
- Second annual Pond Fest — largest event to date with ~1,500 attendees
- Raised ~$19,000 gross — nearly doubling the $10,000 goal
- Expanded to three named pavilion stages: Wingspan, Monarch, and Nest Box
- 11 live acts including Secondhand Stray, FINN, Big Izzy and Bullfrog, The Mad Dabbers, and Ballet Folklórico
- Open Mic stage all day at the Nest Box pavilion
- 40+ craft vendors, artisans, and nonprofits
- Beer garden featuring JAKL Beer Works, Volunteer Brewing Co., and First State Brewing Co.
- Food trucks: Dixie's Down Home Cooking, DE Mex Street Foods, We Aim To Cheese, Kona Ice
- Delaware First Responders display and demonstrations (1–3 PM)
- Delaware State Parks Airstream (Delawanderer) on site
- Kids Zone with yard games, crafts, face painting, nature scavenger hunt, and more
- First year with hayride and face painting as ticketed activities
- Raffle and silent auction with donations from 20+ local businesses and DNREC
Fundraising Goals
Subsidize environmental education field trips for Title 1 schools at Lums Pond State Park. In spring 2024, 524 students attended these field trips.
Fund a BoardSafe Accessible Kayak Launch with transfer platforms, handrails, and stability features to open Lums Pond's waters to visitors of all abilities.
